Holman, Withem, Collier, and Shepherd winners May 15th!

 

    Drag racing action would take off with over 200 vehicles presenting for first round of bracket racing competition, along with the great lakes nostalgia funny cars circuit for exhibition runs.

 

In the sonic drive-in super Pro division we would see Leon Bryan from Jamestown Ohio dial a 5.83 to the 4.59 of Glenn Yancey from Waynesville.  Both racers would be excellent at tree with a .511 light, however it would be Brian with the win after a 5.848 run.  Next up we would see Paula Holman from Pataskala Ohio dial a 5.00 to the 4.76 of Scots Sanford from new Carlisle.  Holman would have 8.500 light only better by .006  then Sanford, and would take the win with a 5.011.  Tim Louderback of Xenia had the bye run into the semi.

 

In the semi finals it would be Brian dialing a 5.84 to the 5.11 of Louderback.  Louderback would be better at the tree with a .521, but it would be Brian with a 5.849 pass for the win light.  Paula Holman would have the bye run into the finals.

 

In the final round Holman would dial a 5.00 to the 5.83 of Bryan.  Bryan would go red making Holman the event winner in the sonic super Pro division.

 

In the Buckminn's D&D Harley-Davidson Pro bike division we would see Jeremy England dial a 9.79 to the 10.83 of Steve Withem.  At the tree England would be better with a 601 light but it would be with some on the round win with a 10.868 ride.  Next up would be Perry Sowers dialing a 10.73 to the 8.68 of Joe Deck.  Sowers would go red moving Joe Deck to the next round.  Next up would be see and Cotterman dialing a 10.30 to the 9.58 of Bill Camp.  Cotterman would take the win with a 10.314 ride.  The last pair for the round would be Larry Hunter dialing a 9.34 to the 9.51 of Bob Nugent.  Hunter would break out, moving Nugent to the semi finals.

 

In the semi finals we would see Cotterman staged against Withem.  Cotterman would leave early, moving Withem to the finals.  The last pair the semi is would be Joe deck against Bob Nugent.  Both drivers would get about the same reaction time within .002, however it would be Bob Nugent with the round win on a 9.507 ride.

 

In the finals Withem would dial a 10.82 to the 9.50 of Nugent.  Nugent would receive the better light with a .514, but it would be Withem on a 10.828 ride for the event win.

 

Pro quarterfinal action would see Steve Collier dial a 6.04 to the 6.61 of ride Knight.  Collier would have the better reaction time with a .527 and would take the win with a 6.071 pass.  Next up would be Ron Johnson dialing a 6.52 to the 6.14 of Tom Scarpelli dialing a 6.14.  Scarpelli would be better at the tree with a .508 and would take the round win with a 6.143 pass.  Next we would see Joe Barney dial a 7.20 to the 7.17 of Bill Tulson Jr..  Tulson would have the better reaction with a .517 and would take the breakout win with a 7.161 pass.  The last pair of the round would include Rusty Thompson dialing a 7.57 to the 6.43 of Mike Gill.  Gil would go red moving Thompson.

 

In the semi is Thompson would dial a 7.56 to the 7.16 of Tulson.  Tulson would get the better reaction time with a .520, and would take the win with a 7.199 pass.  Next up would be Steve Collier dialing a 6.02 to the 6.14 of tom Scarpelli.  Collier would get a .506 reaction time and would take the win with a 6.034 pass.

 

In the finals Collier would dial a 6.00 to the 7.17 of Tulson.  Collier would receive the better reaction time but only by .0025, and would take the win with a 6.024 pass.

 

In the sportsman quarterfinals we would see Matt Spradlin dial a 17.60 to the 12.00 of Ricky Shepherd.  Spradlin would go red moving Shepherd to the semi.  Next would be Karl Thomas dialing a 13.93 to the 12.19 of Howard Ledford.  Ledford would have the better reaction time but it would be Thomas with a 13.956 pass for the win.  Next would be Steve Collier dialing a 12.01 to the 13.00 of Marty Wolfe.  Wolf would have the better reaction time but it would be Collier on a 12.054 pass for the win light.  Next up would be Sam Bunch dialing a 12.03 to the 12.00 of Doug Caplinger.  Caplinger would go red moving Sam to the semi finals.

 

In the semi finals it would be Steve Collier dialing a 12.08 to the 12.03 of Sam Bunch.  Sam would have the better reaction time and would take the round win with a 12.057 pass.  Next up would be Karl Thomas dialing a 13.93 to the 12.00 of Ricky Shepherd.  Shepherd would be better at the tree and would take the round win with a 12.133 run.

 

In the finals bunch would dial a 12.03 to the 12.00 of Ricky Shepherd.  Bunch would be better at the tree with a .551 light but it would be Ricky Shepherd with a 12.007 for the final win.
