Well its quick 16 its Ohio in July and the weatherman is calling
for what else rain. The car count was down with only 253 counting the
quick 16 cars. We were running the last bracket one time runs when the
skies opened up and shut us down for a while. After drying the track we
started racing last and was looking that midnight curfew right in the
eye. But we made it with five minute to spare with five repeat winners
and two first time winners.
It was the second quick 16 race of the season and we had 15 door
cars and 12 open wheel cars trying to qualify for the top eight spots in
each bracket. After two qualifying rounds the top spot in door car was
Mike Rowe of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 89 Trans Am with a 4.563 at
156.70. Top speed was Jim Pauckner of Blanchester, Ohio with his 41
Willies at 157.90. The bump spot was Robbie Jones of Jamestown, Ohio in
his 63 Corvette with a 4.888 at 144.17. In the open wheel cars it was
Super Dave McCreedie of Trenton, Ohio in his 00 Kennedy at 4.374 at
159.56 which was also top speed. The bump spot was Jeff Hurst of
Fairborn, Ohio in his 01 Undercover at 4.769 at 146.55. In the semi
finals Brad Eglian of South Gate, Kentucky in his 94 Lumina ran dead on
4.755 at 146.69 on a 4.75 dial in to get by Greg Burba of Beavercreek,
Ohio in his 88 Beretta who broke out with a 4.722 at 150.46 on a 4.73
dial in. Jeff Hurst had the better light and ran a 4.764 at 141.10 on a
4.74 dial in to get by Greg Kain of Kettering, Ohio in his 98 Undercover
who ran a 4.720 at 144.25 on a 4.69 dial in. In the final Eglian had the
better light but Hurst got the win light with a 4.756 at 146.93 on a
4.74 dial in for his first win of the season.

In super pro 100 cars staged up for the first round with Jim
Fourcade and Brian Stultz having the best light of the round with a .503
and Randy Stutz and Robbie Jones both running dead on with a zero. In
round two Jim Lockhart had a perfect .500 light and Roger Taylor ran
dead on with a four. In round three Badeye Brinegar had a .500 light and
Kenny Carson Sr ran dead on with a zero. In round four Marsha McFall had
a .507 light and Ed Beyer Jr ran dead on with a one. In the
quarterfinals Boomer Ellison of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 68 Camaro had
the bye run and ran a 5.902 on a 5.90 dial in. Jim Cowan of Miamisburg,
Ohio in his 27 Ford Roadster red lighted giving the win to Steve Cottle
of Xenia, Ohio in his Dragster. Tony
McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in his 85 Firebird broke out giving the win to
Jason Ford of New Madison, Ohio in his Fox Dragster. Ed Beyer Jr of
Beavercreek, Ohio in his 96 Cutlass had the better light and got by
Marsha McFall of Tipp City, Ohio in her 67 Camaro. In the semi finals
Ellison had the better light and got the win over Cottle. Ford red
lighted giving the win to Beyer Jr. In the final both were looking for
their first win of the season. Ellison ran a 5.948 on a 5.94 dial in to
take the win over Beyer Jr who ran a 5.126 on a 5.11 dial in.

In the pro bracket 54 cars staged up for the first round with the
best light a .504 by Earl Wyatt and Jay Ward and Bill Livesay running a
dead on with a zero. In round two David Lowry having the best light with
a .509 and Chris Parriman running dead on with a two. In the
quarterfinals Mike L Hurless of Washington Court House, Ohio in his 72
Nova got the bye run. Bill Livesay of Fairborn, Ohio in his 70 Nova won
a double breakout race over Michael Roberts of Huber Heights in his 63
Nova. Steve Collier of Xenia, Ohio in his 70 Cuda got the win over Chris
Parriman of Dayton, Ohio in his Camaro. Danny manning of west
Carrollton, Ohio in his 69 Camaro broke out giving the win to Lyndon Cox
of Kettering, Ohio in his 68 Camaro. In the semi finals Hurless ran a
10.410 on a 10.41 dial in to beat Cox. Livesay won the double breakout
race over Collier. In the final Hurless had the better light and got his
second win of the season.

In the sportsman class 33 cars staged up for the first round. In
round two Joe Zimmer had a .501 light and Dale Adams ran dead on with a
7. In the quarterfinals Joe Zimmer of Dayton, Ohio in his 71 Camaro got
the bye. Dennis Young of Riverside, Ohio in his 71 Camaro got by Dale
Adams of Beavercreek, Ohio in his 96 Mustang. Doug Caplinger of Xenia,
Ohio in his 79 Malibu got the win over James Browder of Beavercreek,
Ohio in his 04 Mustang. In the semi finals Caplinger got the bye run.
Young got the win over Zimmer. In the final Young was looking for his
third win of the season and Caplinger was looking for his forth. Young
had the better light but broke out giving Caplinger his forth win and
second in a row.

In motorcycle 22 bikes staged up for the first round. In round
two Bob Nugent had the best light with a .507. In the quarterfinals Brad
Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio on his 75 Kawasaki broke giving the win
to Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki. Bob Nugent of
Fairborn, Ohio on his 79 Kawasaki broke out giving the win to Dave
Beavers of Urbana, Ohio on his 76 Kawasaki. Brian Poe of Cable, Ohio on
his 96 Suzuki had the better light but Scott Sheppeard of Tipp City,
Ohio on his 83 Honda got the win light. In the semi finals Oiler Sr got
the bye run. Sheppeard red lighted giving the win to Beavers. In the
final Beavers red lighted giving Oiler Sr his forth win of the season.

With a lot of junior dragster racers at the junior race at
Bristol this weekend we only had 13 cars stage up in the first round
with Mike Philpott running a 11.224 on a 11.22 dial in. In the
quarterfinals Mike Philpott of Waynesville, Ohio in his 02 Spitzer
getting the bye run. Ceslie Shellhaas of Springfield, Ohio in her 00 Bos
red lighted giving the win to Brian Emory of Beavercreek, Ohio. Brad
Stevens of South Bloomingville, Ohio had a .505 light that was the best
light for all juniors today to get by Megan Hughes of Jamestown, Ohio in
her 95 Bos. Taylor Manning of West Carrollton, Ohio in her 03 Dragster
red lighted giving the win to Dylan Bair of Urbana, Ohio in his 01
Jegster. In the semi finals Stevens got the bye run. Bair got the win
over Emory. I the final Stevens broke out giving Bair his second win of
the season.

For the second week in a row we had four high school racers. In
the semi finals Joe Hoskins of Fairborn, Ohio in his neon had the better
light and got the win light over Michael Collier of Dayton, Ohio in his
90 Buick. Last weeks winner Nick Brrett of Beavercreek, Ohio in his
Caddy red lighted giving David reedy of Xenia, Ohio in his Mustang the
win. In the final Hoskins was looking for his first win in his second
final and Reedy was looking for his fifth win of the season. Reedy had
the better light and got the win over Hoskins.
