        Week three at Kil-Kare, what a beautiful day for racing with the car count up over 200 for the first time this year. We ran all three brackets and paid out full purse. The day started off on a hot note with great reaction time’s and very close racing. Bracket one first round Bob Miller of Tremont City, Ohio hit a perfect.500. Then in the next pair Rich Evans of Xenia and Merit Royalty of Middletown both had .500 lights. In round two Merit driving a different car had another .500 light. Not to be out done, in round 5 of bracket two, Kyle Hanson of Amanda, Ohio had a perfect .500. We even had a perfect .500 light in the finals of Junior Dragster by Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek, Ohio. In bracket three and motorcycle there was no perfect light but Bob Maxwell of Galloway, Ohio had a .501 in round three of bracket three. Dave Beavers had a .503 light in the bike final.

 

        The entire racing today was close and exciting. In the quarterfinals of super pro Leon Bryan of Jamestown, Ohio in his 65 Corvette got the bye run. Jerry Dunkel Of Kettering, Ohio in his 69 Chevelle got the better light forcing Scott Sanford of New Carlisle, Ohio in his dragster to breakout. Christy Morgan-Back of Dayton, Ohio in her Mustang ran dead on to beat Rick Wegley of Dayton, Ohio in his Chevette. In the semi finals Jerry got the bye. Christy got the better light on Leon but he ran closer to his dial in and got the win. In the final Leon got the better light .516 to .522 and ran a 5.908 at 117.18 on a 5.89 dial in for the win. Jerry broke out with a 6.167 at 109.43 on a 6.18 dial in.

         With the pro bracket running by its self today for the first time this year there was some close racing. In the quarterfinals Kyle Hanson of Amanda, Ohio in his 69 Firebird got the better light and win light over John Bosier of Sabina, Ohio in his 64 Dodge. Ken Morris of Camden, Ohio in his Nova won a double breakout race over Dave Baker of Xenia, Ohio in his 70 Camaro. Terry Davis of Milledgeville, Ohio in his 72 Nova got the better light and win light over Lance Wagner of Huber Heights, Ohio in his 77 Nova. Mark Stroble of Springfield, Ohio in his 77 Maverick got the better light but broke out giving the win to Mike Pennwell of London, Ohio in his Olds. In the semi finals Kyle had that perfect light and beat Ken. Terry got the better light in the win over Mike. In the final Kyle went red with a .492 giving the win to Terry who ran a 10.525 at 127.49 on a 10.46 dial in.

        In sportsman bracket three in its first time not in combo. Quarterfinals Mike Schoetinger of Eaton, Ohio in his pinto got the better light and the win light over Dennis Young of Dayton, Ohio in his 71 Camaro. Richard Hammond of Huber Heights, Ohio in his Grand Prix red lighted giving the win to Danny Oiler Jr in his Mustang out of Springfield, Ohio. Bob Maxwell of Galloway, Ohio in his Firebird had that .501 light to beat James Browder of Beavercreek, Ohio in his Mustang. Doug Caplinger of Xenia, Ohio in his 79 Malibu red lighted giving the win to Walt Shade Jr of Riverside, Ohio in his 73 Maverick. In the semi finals Mike red lighted giving the win to Bob. Walt had the better light on ran dead on to beat Danny. In the final Walt had the better light but broke out with a 13.536 at 96.97 on a 13.54 dial in. Bob got the win with a dead on 13.974 at 98.26 on a 13.97 dial in.

        In motorcycle Quarterfinals Sam Beluschok of Newark, Ohio on his Suzuki got the bye run. Dave Beavers of Urbana, Ohio on his 90 Kawasaki used a .509 light to breakout Dean Weaks of Fairborn, Ohio on his 77 Kawasaki. Danny Oiler Sr of Springfield, Ohio on his Suzuki got a close win over Paul Herald Jr of Springfield, Ohio on his Kawasaki. In the semi finals Danny got the bye ran. Dave got the better light and the win light over Sam. In the finals Dave had that .503 light but broke out with a 9.215 at 131.15 on a 9.26 dial in. Danny got his first win of the season with a 9.153 at 138.57 on a 9.14 dial in.

         In the junior dragster quarterfinals Chris Nuss of North Hampton, Ohio red lighted giving the win to Matt Spradlin of Springfield, Ohio. Tyler Vance of New Carlisle, Ohio red lighted giving the win to Killian Fansler of Kettering, Ohio. Michael Sturgill of Beavercreek, Ohio got the bye. In the semi finals Killian got the bye. Michael got the better light and the win light over Matt. In the final Michael got that perfect .500 light and the win with an 8.384 at 75.97 on an 8.40 dial in. Killian ran a 7.796 at 79.24 on a 7.90 dial in.
